Today I'm trying to make a difficult decision: What kind of yarn I should order for my Craftsy Beyond Basic Broomstick Lace class. I'm getting ready to make the big kahuna project: the Rebel Lace Cardi.
The Rebel Lace Cardi is the lovely cardigan that is in the above photo! I'm really excited to start making mine because it is something that I will be able to wear while I'm pregnant, and post pregnancy!
In the class, I've finished the first two projects that they give to work on, and I've been ready and eager to start working on the cardi...but the thing is, they recommend working with a in-elastic fiber. If you've read this blog for a while, you know that I'm an animal fiber girl! The more wool, alpaca and mohair you throw at me, the happier camper I become!
Being such, when someone says "cotton" I tend to hide under a rock. Bamboo and Silk are more up my alley, but I really love them best when mixed with wool...or alpaca. Yummy. I'm trying not to salivate too much on the keyboard right now ;)
Anyway, when a friend of mine on Facebook said she wanted to make a KnitPicks order, I knew this was my chance to pick up some yarn for the project! I'm finally getting myself to the point where I know I am not going to purchase my best fiber friend, but will take a leap out and buy plant fibers.
Right now I'm teetering between the lovely CotLin DK yarn and Shine Sport Yarn. If I was making a choice solely on color, I would probably choose the Shine Sport Yarn. But the only thing holding me back from making a decision right now is that I don't know what each of the yarns feel like. I don't want to buy one and have it kill my skin because it was too rough for me. This is why I love my LYS! It is so nice to have a petting zoo at your fingertips :)
Has anyone here worked with either yarn? Can you give me an opinion before I dish out the dough for yarn?
Hubby and I are spending the weekend at my parents so they can enjoy a well-deserved night away and not have to worry about the kiddos! I'm anticipating getting some projects finished! What are you doing this weekend? Have any great crocheting plans up your sleeves?

Hi! I've worked with Cotlin DK and it was nice and soft! it seemed to shed a bit on my hands, and I frogged what I knit with it because my gauge was off so I haven't seen how it wears. You could also check and see what people say about it on Ravelry!
