Baby Bump, And Inspiration - Spring/Summer 2013

Who wants to see a baby bump? You're some of the first to see this...I only just posted it on facebook this morning! I've been denying that it's really a baby bump and just a whole bunch of fat...but I think I've settled entirely on the fact that it's my baby bump now :)

On to today's blogging matter!

Lately, I have been trying to regain some of my designing mojo. I don't know what happened, but it just isn't there! Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones...but today I decided that it's time to get some inspiration to fuel my creative soul.

When I need some creative stimulation, there are a whole bunch of places that I look to for inspiration and a direction to go. I've always been a fashion-a-holic, but I kind of fell into a rut while wedding planning. But now with a baby on the way, I have so many limitless amazing fashion possibilities! Maternity style is way better now than it ever has been. But, this isn't the topic I was trying to get to!

Anyways! I really enjoy looking at trends for the upcoming season. Seeing the incredibly beautiful (and sometimes bizarre) runway shows online is fantastic inspiration. My tastes lie in the arena of "vintage is best," but there are a lot of forward thinking designers right now who are incredibly talented at mixing old inspiration, with new techniques.

Here are some pieces that I felt spoke to me:

Giles S/S 2013
Donna Karan S/S 2013

Zac Posen S/S 2013

I think my favorite collection I've seen so far is Zac Posen's. He really had a vintage-modern take this season...and I'm gobbling it all up. If you have any connections to getting those dresses...can you hook me up? ;)

I thought the first dress from Giles was was very inspiring as well. Actually, their whole collection was inspiring as a crocheter. There are many dresses with beautiful eyelet detailing such as the dress above, but I wasn't sure if some of it would be appropriate to post on my blog or not! If you would like to see the rest of the collection, you can visit this website.

Where do you get inspiration from? This is just one of many avenues of my own sources, but I'd LOVE to hear from some other people!

Happy Crocheting!

Chelsea
