Motif-a-Day: Day 2 ~ Wonderland

Hey Everyone!

Today is day two in the Motif-a-Day series!
Meet wonderland. What I love most about this motif is the understated lacy-ness of it! I love square motifs, probably because they can go together in so many interesting ways. If you play around with this pattern at all, I would absolutely love to see what you come up with.

The yarn used in the wonderland motif is Cascade 220 Superwash. When crocheted with an H hook, it creates a fabric that is slightly thick, but would drape incredibly with a little blocking.

This motif works up super quickly as well! You could have a whole pile of them done in no time flat! The most difficult part of the pattern is probably the joining row. I haven't worked from many join-as-you-go patterns before in the past, so I'm not sure if I created a totally new stitch or not, when you join to the picot with another picot!

With a filler motif, I think this motif would make a beautiful shawl or wrap. I could even see it becoming a sweater or cardigan....hmmm...I love the process of inspiration!

I'm going to try and get ahead a few days of designs so I can actually block them properly as well! I think that this pattern would be so incredibly lacy when blocked! I guess I should get off my procrastinating behind!

In other news, I finally went to the grocery store to restock our fridge after vacation! Dustin and I have recently gotten on a huge fresh juicing spurt and my cart definitely reflected that!

Juice is so yummy! I love experimenting putting all sorts of things together and seeing just how great it still ends up being! I have been putting a beet in our juice lately...it's definitely pink at the end! I juice kale as well, and knowing that my baby is getting so many fantastic nutrients while she is growing is absolutely fantastic. I am so excited for the farmers market to start back up so I have super ultra fresh things to juice! I have been tinkering with the idea of starting some pots of plants on our little patio outside too....we shall see!

Happy Crocheting!

Chelsea
