Motif-a-Day: Day 15 ~ Ardor

Hey Everyone!

Whew, I'm glad I'm done playing catch up for this week now!

Today's Pattern is called Ardor.

My mom gave me a good idea for the motif I am going to use when making Baby Willow's blanket. This is trial run #1! I want the motif for her blanket to be inspired by a traditional granny square while being innovative and girly. I really love this motif, because when worked up in a thicker worsted weight yarn with a bigger hook, it would be a fantastic afghan motif, but when it's worked up like it is now in a light weight cotton/acrylic yarn it is phenomenal for baby clothes! I may or may not have something up my sleeve... :)

The only downside to this motif is all of the darned ends that you'll have to sew in. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any great ways to hide my ends in on a granny square - Do you have any tips or tutorials that you know of? I'm very open to them!!

Also, the yarn that I used to make this is by Bergere de France Coton Fifty. I picked up a few skeins at my LYS on Thursday. They were in the buy one get one free bin because the owner has never had much luck selling the yarn. I don't know why, I've absolutely loved working with it! I may have to go back and pick up a few more skeins to make baby things with. It is machine washable which makes it perfect!

Also, today is the last day to enter the Motif-a-Day giveaway! The winner will be announced on Monday :)

Happy Crocheting!
