Hey Everyone!<br />
<br />
Well that was a nice long maternity leave! ;)<br />
<br />
To give a brief synopsis of what has happened in the 16 months I haven't blogged:<br />

We welcomed Willow Ozora Wales into the world on June 13th, 2013, a full month and a day before her expected due date. That day, I had been diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia that day and was called into triage to have an "emergency" (not truly an emergency in so much as being put under for the procedure) cesarean section.<br />

<br />
It is so hard to believe that she was born over a year ago already!<br />
<br />
My latest crochet baby was also born last fall! I made Willow a hat last October that had a beautiful crystal button on it, and made some very cool interchangeable flowers to attach to it. I put a picture on facebook and had 7 people ordering similar hats! I was flabbergasted!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I announced to my mom that I thought I wanted to work hard and do one craft show in December. She though that doing a craft show would be a great idea, but that I pursue several shows to try and help off-set the cost of putting together a display and making hats. So, I jumped off the deep end and booked a show the very next weekend! We had a very limited selection, but we got a ton of custom orders! I think we looked pretty fantastic for our first show!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
We made more and more hats, and our displays gradually got larger...<br />
<br />

Willow and I even sported matching hats at the shows!<br />

If I am not mistaken, we sold hats at 6 shows last fall. It was so exhilarating! My mom and I really loved producing the hats :)<br />

This year we got all ready to start doing shows in the end of August. This was my first show at the farmers market in Janesville<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
It rained cats and dogs, but I still sold 4 hats!<br />
<br />
The next weekend I couldn't believe it when I sold 10 hats. That was as great as I did at the majority of my shows last fall!<br />
<br />
The next weekend was the weekend that may have changed my outlook on my hat business forever. I like to call it the crazy, amazing, outstanding hat day.<br />
<br />
We attended the Oconomowoc Fall Festival. It was the first cold day of the year, and the sun was playing hooky with us. The minute we started hanging up hats in our display, the minute they started selling. And Selling. And Selling. And Selling. And MORE AND MORE AND MORE. I am not kidding you, I only got to go to the bathroom twice in 8 hours. WE WERE MOBBED. YES I AM YELLING!!! I sold every last hat that we had made this year. And almost every hat left from our stock from last year. We sold 100 hats! In ONE day!<br />
<br />

I have been working really hard on getting <a href="http://crochetcollection.etsy.com/" target="_blank">my etsy shop</a> up and running the last few weeks! If you would like to purchase a hat from me and you can't make it to <a href="http://www.facebook.com/crochetcollection" target="_blank">one of my shows</a>, I would really love to make you something special!<br />
<br />
How is that for an update! I will be updating again soon!<br />

<br />
All of this beautiful Wisconsin weather had to end sometime...and it chose today. Yesterday it was in the higher 80's and I was sweating, and today I was running for my sweatshirt! It sounds like it will be beautiful again next week though, and boy, do I look forward to that!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Aslan and I enjoyed the rainy views from the couch together. He is such a good crocheting buddy :)<br />
<br />
I took another picture of the future baby room today:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz9SufZd0gvPrRQZx7jRdcslA_OadwfChAQgtPv_4F-nCeuMTjZ9LsKUIbFy_1h43S3iOQO_Or_Q4YQ5ycv-fAGktAcVeK0s0VTZD4JUwt8UDftYrPcO_oDbjkMU6YzaKZB8Yrgav02Xo/s1600/20130502_085244.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz9SufZd0gvPrRQZx7jRdcslA_OadwfChAQgtPv_4F-nCeuMTjZ9LsKUIbFy_1h43S3iOQO_Or_Q4YQ5ycv-fAGktAcVeK0s0VTZD4JUwt8UDftYrPcO_oDbjkMU6YzaKZB8Yrgav02Xo/s320/20130502_085244.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's coming...slowly. I haven't had time to touch it the last few days, but I think I finally have my stash weeded through for the most part. I think I'll be doing a second sweep next week because it all has to fit in my closet! I need to get the storage totes in the back of the room organized one last time before they get brought up to Dustin's and my shared office space. Sitting on top is a whole pile of crocheted things I found that I'd like to blog about coming up!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmCgZtpeX7nWVnE_KWrUhvT0gtzbIXgwJdQSM7At0ACbos2aaz09x2AUNddXnbicizmrq-ofiNrfl5PRjcgbki45INTA9jgz1jybTcaf_ilOaFQBe3G1dpimJ4B5dqF9HRgyxXQQNNjwU/s1600/20130502_085254.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmCgZtpeX7nWVnE_KWrUhvT0gtzbIXgwJdQSM7At0ACbos2aaz09x2AUNddXnbicizmrq-ofiNrfl5PRjcgbki45INTA9jgz1jybTcaf_ilOaFQBe3G1dpimJ4B5dqF9HRgyxXQQNNjwU/s320/20130502_085254.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Unfortunately I don't think I have a before picture of this shelving unit. This shelf used to house 90% of my crochet books and magazines. I have probably weeded out at least 5 boxes of materials that I don't really need or have any emotional attachment to. I kept quite a few patterns from my grandma that I knew she had made for me or books I knew I had started things out of that I still would like to finish...like the baby afghan I started YEARS ago that I haven't touched and may not be able to find yarn for anymore. Yeah...those projects.<br />
<br />
Did I mention I need to do a second round purge? :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGHb8loLDd_0zrVQVWXqWcTEXauFcl95ddhn30WsFPHJmdgNqyZT9jdBBk2xRRemhF1cc42W_GOvh8LIDaxVCg59PmNgxWwhS7a4Nv26jym9MYYFyQStCqLBAaygitjG1dUk5e4xKvHOw/s1600/20130502_085305.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGHb8loLDd_0zrVQVWXqWcTEXauFcl95ddhn30WsFPHJmdgNqyZT9jdBBk2xRRemhF1cc42W_GOvh8LIDaxVCg59PmNgxWwhS7a4Nv26jym9MYYFyQStCqLBAaygitjG1dUk5e4xKvHOw/s320/20130502_085305.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I do know that I posted a picture of this shelving unit last fall. I haven't finished my first round of purging with this shelf yet because I have to get to the things around it first :) But...here is the before...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv-qKnzFxZmq-F57EsCzedZJkk6_TmFn3V00MX01r7zgosxRP8ZY93h-S1TPtLk0VuZHZJ3xnbRTKqPlWqYkJAinGa1vyl2n96zNsTtTfIiOk1zSm9W47Sj1_ApGFSBLHUKF7g_EDc92k/s1600/sad+studio+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv-qKnzFxZmq-F57EsCzedZJkk6_TmFn3V00MX01r7zgosxRP8ZY93h-S1TPtLk0VuZHZJ3xnbRTKqPlWqYkJAinGa1vyl2n96zNsTtTfIiOk1zSm9W47Sj1_ApGFSBLHUKF7g_EDc92k/s320/sad+studio+2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
At this rate the baby will actually have a nursery by the time she's born! Hurray!<br />
<br />
For your viewing pleasure today I have both motifs from days 23 and 24!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I really like the Flourish motif because it is very different from any other motif I created during Motif-a-Day! It is a cross between a triangle and a hexagon. There are two different kinds of points and therefore two different kinds of joins. The pattern actually has a chart that I made to go with it specifically for people like me who get confused very easily by written patterns!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I think it would be fun to make this motif into something bigger and have different colored motifs - I think it would be very interesting with the different joins!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The charm motif is a kind of a hat tip to the obsession I've been experiencing with V stitches this week. This pattern includes them subtly. They would be much more prominent if you blocked this motif well!</div>

<br />
I just wanted to quick pop by and say I didn't forget about you today! I really love the motif for Day 23, and the pattern is a little more on the difficult side. I wanted to be able to produce a chart to go with the pattern, and while it is almost finished I didn't get a chance to start working on the written pattern!<br />
<br />
I will be sure to get it up right away in the morning when I have a fresh brain!<br />
<br />
And, I'll blog about my baby room!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Day 22...just 3 days to go! And it's April 30th - wow! Tomorrow is May day, and I'll officially be 6-1/2 months pregnant! These last few months have really flown by, I must say.<br />
<br />
Today was almost too warm in Wisconsin, hard as that may be to believe! We almost hit 90 degrees and it was pretty humid too. But, I'd so much rather have this warm stuff than the 40 degree nastiness we've had up until now.<br />
<br />
Today I made a lot of progress on baby Willow's room and the purging process. I am planning to post about it this week!<br />
<br />
And now...the Entwined Motif!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4n2EHLkg-rrIeJNHaEYp8j7avW2GOW944iJxFL-bQRTt5LBCZUO9yC8JX3UtDKVL_AskOKT3q-_0Jnw4hJ80v-I2nSDrQ68rARjVfj1moDQQtAoch9GmWhrI8ZYmsC5Bs0PVmosdPDjQ/s1600/Entwined.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4n2EHLkg-rrIeJNHaEYp8j7avW2GOW944iJxFL-bQRTt5LBCZUO9yC8JX3UtDKVL_AskOKT3q-_0Jnw4hJ80v-I2nSDrQ68rARjVfj1moDQQtAoch9GmWhrI8ZYmsC5Bs0PVmosdPDjQ/s640/Entwined.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/153629"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I enjoyed creating this motif this evening after I spent the day working on organizational projects. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going to go with it, but I knew I wanted to have a lattice type of join. I love the crossing effect that it has in the middle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3GO75K6LGTXw2YeikxpFq0wK-jigCZJS9O8y8ilXb3cJsZ6hpa-sRFB7LwRjCVOPNtVGTwv8vbe9VK6ayMY7sdpO1yAqWOuBG6yYjfM7eOUXk7Th3FI2TL5ahhe72CzrhKwVKTLoww4M/s1600/Entwined2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3GO75K6LGTXw2YeikxpFq0wK-jigCZJS9O8y8ilXb3cJsZ6hpa-sRFB7LwRjCVOPNtVGTwv8vbe9VK6ayMY7sdpO1yAqWOuBG6yYjfM7eOUXk7Th3FI2TL5ahhe72CzrhKwVKTLoww4M/s400/Entwined2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I must say that I've really enjoyed working with the Caron Spa yarn, and I am so disappointed that it has been discontinued. I hopped on it's band wagon too late :( It is so drapey and light weight, it is so fantastic for summer wear!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzmtbhGVXx8qG6XISgSneaJx0WFBWZfKQpf86_noFgm9sfU5bh0kXI-Kj05ZQ1XXfJKppyadYuvYL3N16pQ_wK-uSwCgP9eidNyB9bUBUEwe-15RoNeaEO2av-Z-8K1-ka_F_nn5HgKhs/s1600/Entwined3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzmtbhGVXx8qG6XISgSneaJx0WFBWZfKQpf86_noFgm9sfU5bh0kXI-Kj05ZQ1XXfJKppyadYuvYL3N16pQ_wK-uSwCgP9eidNyB9bUBUEwe-15RoNeaEO2av-Z-8K1-ka_F_nn5HgKhs/s320/Entwined3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Alright, so are you ready for your teaser for May's Challenge?<br />
<br />
Clue #2 - Thinner and more lightweight yarns are frequently used for this category of design.<br />
<br />
Good luck guessing! If you have a guess as to what the challenge may be, leave a comment! If you get it right you will win the e-book from the upcoming challenge!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
This weekend just happened to be the most beautiful weekend of the year so far! We had highs in the 60's and 70's both Saturday, Sunday and today, too! Tomorrow we are supposed to hit 80 - the first time for 2013!<br />
<br />

<br />
Sunday Dustin and I took my family and his mom to see the Beloit Snappers play (the snappers are the A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics Baseball team). It was a fun game to watch, even though we lost to West Michigan. It's so cool to think that we could possibly have been watching future major leaguers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwsPDgjNGzfxOKDFiFEQbzS0gZTn12DcsDQERlPOeiBvANTSPbJAgxmJuY0-hE741n5qVoTrL5BRi2UGne2leIQBfDxqNiWmHZb0Y2BGm5uldsuAb7ZLGfVHeAJ3dowTY46Mi3L27F078/s1600/20130429_110108.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwsPDgjNGzfxOKDFiFEQbzS0gZTn12DcsDQERlPOeiBvANTSPbJAgxmJuY0-hE741n5qVoTrL5BRi2UGne2leIQBfDxqNiWmHZb0Y2BGm5uldsuAb7ZLGfVHeAJ3dowTY46Mi3L27F078/s320/20130429_110108.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Saturday I spent the day working on a major purge of what will become Baby Willow's nursery! I have already taken more than 12 boxes out to the garage to sell at my garage sale coming up in May. If you live nearby, there will be A TON of sewing and crochet related items. You won't want to miss it! I still have to work on purging my yarn stash. Anything I know I won't use is getting sold at the garage sale...hard as it is to part with it.<br />
<br />
I can honestly say it's a good thing I must be starting my nesting phase because I don't think I would be able to purge this well any other time! I know I'll have to do a second and third sweep through to get rid of even more stuff - but so far so good. I would definitely say we've made a huge improvement since last October:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3bLXOxxlwlzmVEqQdeuaMWiZsc1ya64AEwRKZl2cxmULyHu_GzVLtJVAtRB9VzgnVTDMcvr13bEhaYLs0W4ZlM0YIGXGLDf7NMUW9CcKl3zOj8nJ70wioXOJ8OkiIiLkDJS6lLLEYK1E/s1600/Sad+Studio+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3bLXOxxlwlzmVEqQdeuaMWiZsc1ya64AEwRKZl2cxmULyHu_GzVLtJVAtRB9VzgnVTDMcvr13bEhaYLs0W4ZlM0YIGXGLDf7NMUW9CcKl3zOj8nJ70wioXOJ8OkiIiLkDJS6lLLEYK1E/s320/Sad+Studio+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Bleh bleh bleh! That desk in the left corner has been moved up to Dustin's office which we are now sharing. I have to get the 2 short plastic drawers up there yet too - but there is no way I'm carrying them myself!<br />
<br />
I can't wait to just be done with the process so I can start getting the baby room all prettied up. It is pretty hard for me to believe that there is going to be a little baby around here in anywhere from 8 to 13 weeks!<br />
<br />
Now, before I get into motifs, I wanted to let you all know that I am running a special sale for the last week of the Motif-a-Day Challenge! If you <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/motif-a-day-the-collection" target="_blank">purchase the Motif-a-Day e-book</a>, you can choose any pattern from <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/stores/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs" target="_blank">my Ravelry store</a> that is valued at $5.50 for FREE! <br />
Alrighty, so I believe that I failed to share pictures of the Serpentine motif from day 20 - my bad! Here they are today:<br />

And today's motif, is another that I really like! I've had a lot of fun discovering the interesting things that square motifs can do. I am really looking forward to designing with a lot of the Motif-a-Day motifs!</center>

<center style="text-align: left;">
I love thick and lacy look of this motif. It has a lot of substance to it while being nice and lacy. I experimented with the joining style on this motif, and I think if I were to do it again I would add an extra join in the corners of the motifs so they aren't as free hanging, but I do like it the way it is as well.</center>

<center style="text-align: left;">
It's also hard to believe that it is the last week of Motif-a-Day already! I have been busy planning what I am going to do next month...I have some ideas, but I may play the tease card and draw it out all week by giving hints!</center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
I am hoping that I can do another fun challenge next month and in June so that you all have lots of patterns to keep you busy while I go on my self-declared Maternity Leave :)</center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
</center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
Clue #1 for May's challenge - It has something to do with motifs. Is that suspenseful enough for ya? </center>

Happy Crocheting!</center>

<br />
I can't believe it's taken me 19 days, but I'm really starting to feel the burn of designing and writing a pattern every day. I mean...it's <u style="font-style: italic;">every.day.</u> It never fails that I start a very large undertaking of a project like this and then accumulate projects for publication! My life is a balancing act right now between keeping my head above the water in my crochet projects and making sure the house isn't falling apart at the seams (it kind of is right now...does someone want to come clean for me? Anyone? Even better, throw all of my stuff into the ominous garage sale box, I'll never miss it if someone else does it! :) )<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0N7bHu88JsLvR31e9sQt8lvvGG6XtMW7QbDrkveT9HM9ECE13h8-G_EidoaN42llkmnK9P6Im4C8lwPN79Hjj2foEna6P4eSu3PFDBi7hMiVVqiqVZVRMDaqJ0C5VImIA-FsHr24oLYc/s1600/Seraphic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="486" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0N7bHu88JsLvR31e9sQt8lvvGG6XtMW7QbDrkveT9HM9ECE13h8-G_EidoaN42llkmnK9P6Im4C8lwPN79Hjj2foEna6P4eSu3PFDBi7hMiVVqiqVZVRMDaqJ0C5VImIA-FsHr24oLYc/s640/Seraphic.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/152817"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I'm not really sure where today's motif came from...the dark creatively misty corners of my brain perhaps? Maybe that's where the best designs will come from yet! Ha! I'm very happy with how this one turned out. It kind of reminds me of a flower - I'd love to make it up in several different colors!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglXzXNwb4kwEfTtV3A_dlC2l7hHx5AXUHaEvOZZp_euTLj8Hhz6MfIIhSEgIbkKchQtrO0BI3Agou6x_m1sKS_L4xbo-21s3x_BQR8jcKebkzl6XJRiPRDXGqFwq0PJ7hg0scNpAZHdcQ/s1600/Seraphic2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglXzXNwb4kwEfTtV3A_dlC2l7hHx5AXUHaEvOZZp_euTLj8Hhz6MfIIhSEgIbkKchQtrO0BI3Agou6x_m1sKS_L4xbo-21s3x_BQR8jcKebkzl6XJRiPRDXGqFwq0PJ7hg0scNpAZHdcQ/s400/Seraphic2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I was really trying to keep the corners of the points rounded so that it didn't look too star like - I think I did pretty well!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is a design I think would be very pretty made into a convertible shrug/wrap type design. If you haven't seen one before, the idea is making a long rectangle that is wide enough to wrap around your arms as loosely as you'd like, and then adding buttons the length of your arm on both sides. The first design I ever saw like that was by my mentor Robyn Chachula and was featured in a very old Crochet Today! magazine.<br />
<br />

<br />
I still think it's such a cool concept, 6 years after publication! I was actually planning on using the Spark motif for that design quite a while ago, but I ended up not having enough yarn to finish it and I changed the course of the design a bit.<br />
<br />
I can't wait til I have more than 24 hours in a day to get everything I want to get done, done! I could have so many designs... :)<br />

<br />
I don't think I mentioned at all this week that today I was getting my maternity portraits taken. It was a really good week to get them done because:<br />
<br />
1. I'm huge. I have no idea how I will keep getting bigger the next 12 weeks!<br />
2. I've only just started getting tummy stretch marks. So they looked good and I have the satisfaction of knowing there isn't any photoshop going on. I know stretch marks are pretty much inevitable...but I will openly admit it is a hard thing to see them come! I know the end result will be so worth it though. Dustin jokes that we have to have a few more to make the most of the situation. I agree!<br />
3. My friend who took them needed them to be done for a school project ;)<br />
<br />
I have a sneak peak photo! I can't wait to see the rest, and I will be sure to share them all with you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP0LI2pnNG3JlXqb6s3VnlbTxiED8YJESY9gblj4Nim0cnX80SdNL4ZttM5FBnISqP563RCb_-8et_kWUiDeZ_zx2_tTHVe9h_4tTeq72qevq3wbAPg81zg5iw7n9X7Y6hm-5-W_AplMQ/s1600/905506_528581920520955_944464506_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP0LI2pnNG3JlXqb6s3VnlbTxiED8YJESY9gblj4Nim0cnX80SdNL4ZttM5FBnISqP563RCb_-8et_kWUiDeZ_zx2_tTHVe9h_4tTeq72qevq3wbAPg81zg5iw7n9X7Y6hm-5-W_AplMQ/s320/905506_528581920520955_944464506_o.jpg" width="291" /></a></div>
<br />
For today's motif, I pulled out a pattern that I designed back in the NaMoCroMo days...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3dKaItWI3qjygNW0AS4ULfjsXw0pgklBKaikiIiuFUjB_FlGaSKWZOG2-4S1goTBFsu8quFIixGYzNKXXAsZ-efCbVjphzp08-tBtweHVsjzSyj1LP-N7uIN61om-zjw7T25ufn2p3k/s1600/Day17.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3dKaItWI3qjygNW0AS4ULfjsXw0pgklBKaikiIiuFUjB_FlGaSKWZOG2-4S1goTBFsu8quFIixGYzNKXXAsZ-efCbVjphzp08-tBtweHVsjzSyj1LP-N7uIN61om-zjw7T25ufn2p3k/s400/Day17.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
This was by far my favorite motif from that project. I actually have designed something with it but have never written the pattern. I FINALLY did it today, and now I just have to put together the pattern for it's design! But you get the motif pattern first.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiWgIR4uCJhYojeZ2G1Rkk2dr1_J3uNmBLJaVJVxTFCnq0rwXdeul7VYP6qpWr4gzSP9n6UiDfbs9BRrLhbi49hoDw0-LOiFz-8QEJf8j_ZupRNUCLjtXKff93LpWNQbyaMg0wip_DVSs/s1600/Sparks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiWgIR4uCJhYojeZ2G1Rkk2dr1_J3uNmBLJaVJVxTFCnq0rwXdeul7VYP6qpWr4gzSP9n6UiDfbs9BRrLhbi49hoDw0-LOiFz-8QEJf8j_ZupRNUCLjtXKff93LpWNQbyaMg0wip_DVSs/s640/Sparks.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/152694"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
Sparks!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXtHC_2MhWVX_cvX7LmYl5C80O4AYotl8UzVL2AslGIShipYGq5DBKb56rPs2oY8eZ7V85dB9pkgwcKIQJHWQJ831455JgpgIQHeFHGTHWzS-SPvRvAz63gAnLAj9q3zxcRCYMo7TnfMw/s1600/Sparks2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXtHC_2MhWVX_cvX7LmYl5C80O4AYotl8UzVL2AslGIShipYGq5DBKb56rPs2oY8eZ7V85dB9pkgwcKIQJHWQJ831455JgpgIQHeFHGTHWzS-SPvRvAz63gAnLAj9q3zxcRCYMo7TnfMw/s400/Sparks2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
All I can ever see from this motif is the shawl that I have designed from the motif! What do you see it becoming? I have this pattern on the docket to be finished after I get 50 million other crochet projects finished. I will be crocheting forever and never get everything done. It's kind of depressing.<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
I am so excited about what I get to share with you today!<br />
<br />
Last night I got a facebook message from a lovely lady who purchased the Square Dancing motif very recently with a picture of what she is making!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbzR0T1fx1-3N7a3_lHaoFYz_v_5Z9K8nMFOUw9dL2Rsk_tZKWMsTWPb4IUhkBL9i5lXe6zLujFHN8pEDd2qtyMsnyiIBpKXDitsSFSiB8E2z9mgkpZE6JIwoe2xyQGHsq5MS1uD_lJlM/s1600/163572_10201028242538852_629440829_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbzR0T1fx1-3N7a3_lHaoFYz_v_5Z9K8nMFOUw9dL2Rsk_tZKWMsTWPb4IUhkBL9i5lXe6zLujFHN8pEDd2qtyMsnyiIBpKXDitsSFSiB8E2z9mgkpZE6JIwoe2xyQGHsq5MS1uD_lJlM/s320/163572_10201028242538852_629440829_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Isn't it so beautiful! She has alternated turning the motif 45 degrees so some look square and others look diamond. I love the different colors and how she has it all laid out - I can't wait to see it all finished!<br />
<br />
I am very excited to announce that you can pre-order your copy of the Motif-a-Day now on Ravelry! Right now, you get access to all 17 patterns that have been published, and an email update every day with your new pattern! And now... The Whisper Motif!<br />
<br />

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/152532"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I think this is such a pretty motif. I love how lacy and effortless it looks - and it is super simple to crochet! It is also fairly sizeable, 6 inches in just 4 rows! I'd love to design a cardigan out of this motif someday.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
What do you think? How does this motif inspire your creativity?<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today was a BEAUTIFUL day in the neighborhood. 60 degrees, mostly sunny...windows were open! Aslan was a very happy camper. We recently moved our sofa right in front of the big window in our living room, and it is his new favorite spot since he can see everything going on outside. And when the widow is open it is so fun to see him enjoy sniffing up all of the smells. </div>
<div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I crocheted for a while before I had to pack myself up to go for the day. I created my motif for the day (another idea that I had for Willow's blanket), and organized my yarn and put-together motifs for the Enchanted Motif design. Any guesses what this new design may be? :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And now...for the winner of the Motif-a-Day Giveaway...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Congratulations Sasha Kennedy Farnsworth! I got in touch with her over the weekend and she chose Ardor, Harmony and Svelte Motifs as her prize - all very good choices in my book ;) If you didn't win, never fear, I am planning another giveaway very soon!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And now, today's motif!</div>
<div>

<br /></div>
<div>
Today's motif pattern is another idea that I'm playing with for Willow's baby blanket, as I said. I wanted to create something that had a more 3-D effect flower. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am planning on re-shooting these pictures tomorrow. I was having technical difficulties with my camera equipment tonight <i>(ahem, rechargeable flash batteries, I'm pointing at you!)</i> and struggled a bit to get any kind of true color representation. But...you get the idea of the motif, and that's all that matters right? Who cares about pretty pictures...(besides me?) (that was sarcasm. everyone cares about pretty pictures!)<br />
<br />
So, that's all I've got for you today folks!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

Whew, I'm glad I'm done playing catch up for this week now!<br />

Today's Pattern is called Ardor.<br />

<br />
My mom gave me a good idea for the motif I am going to use when making Baby Willow's blanket. This is trial run #1! I want the motif for her blanket to be inspired by a traditional granny square while being innovative and girly. I really love this motif, because when worked up in a thicker worsted weight yarn with a bigger hook, it would be a fantastic afghan motif, but when it's worked up like it is now in a light weight cotton/acrylic yarn it is phenomenal for baby clothes! I may or may not have something up my sleeve... :)<br />

The only downside to this motif is all of the darned ends that you'll have to sew in. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any great ways to hide my ends in on a granny square - Do you have any tips or tutorials that you know of? I'm very open to them!!<br />
<br />
Also, the yarn that I used to make this is by Bergere de France Coton Fifty. I picked up a few skeins at my LYS on Thursday. They were in the buy one get one free bin because the owner has never had much luck selling the yarn. I don't know why, I've absolutely loved working with it! I may have to go back and pick up a few more skeins to make baby things with. It is machine washable which makes it perfect!<br />
<br />
Also, today is the last day to enter the Motif-a-Day giveaway! The winner will be announced on Monday :)<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
I'm having another one of those days where I'm seriously wondering where Spring is. It was SNOWING today. And it's SO cold. I've been ready to call it quits on winter for a nice long time now...if only mother nature could just cooperate and be nice!<br />

<br />
Today I am bringing you the Capacious motif! I wanted to create a motif that could make a more instant-gratification project. This motif is HUGE. Seriously, all four of the motifs barely fit on the table I usually photograph on! If you wanted to make a wrap that was lightweight and drapey for spring and summer, this would be a fantastic motif, especially with a filler motif.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeWnI4NM3SqoxbLEqLWYVM73KDxllxe6KRyuc8zVuDvlN0_nW4zJhNAanP8rFmeczuTHYHrQ9htk6AV5yh9UhU17fHHXHkqP6wefPOuynIokedTV5pL1x3OjDNwIdOhyphenhyphenWkaH6qp4Mvnyc/s1600/Capacious2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeWnI4NM3SqoxbLEqLWYVM73KDxllxe6KRyuc8zVuDvlN0_nW4zJhNAanP8rFmeczuTHYHrQ9htk6AV5yh9UhU17fHHXHkqP6wefPOuynIokedTV5pL1x3OjDNwIdOhyphenhyphenWkaH6qp4Mvnyc/s400/Capacious2.jpg" width="293" /></a></div>
<br />
One day before Motif-a-Day is over, I will produce some filler motif patterns! I've created enough motifs that need them :)<br />
<br />
Tomorrow will be the day I play catch up and bring you Day 15! I may not write much to go with it, but I think you will like the pattern! I bought some pretty yarn at my LYS yesterday in a few different colors to design some motifs and possibly create some baby things. I'm trying to go into too much detail - I'll save it for tomorrow!<br />
<br />
Happy Weekend! (Crochet lots, ok?)<br />

<br /></div>
<div>
Oh, the day was coming. I did design a motif today, but I am so worn out there is no way I can put together a coherent pattern! Thursdays are a good day for me to try and be ahead of the curve, because the day is pretty chock full of events :)</div>

<br />
I woke up this morning to an email from my mom asking if I could come over and babysit today. So, I got to spend some time with fellow yarn lovers!<br />

<br />
...and my siblings too ;) But those little kittens are so adorable and getting SO big. I can hardly believe it!<br />
<br />
I spent a lot of time working on the new design...<br />

<br />
The Enchanted motif won the weekend design contest (I know, late notice on my part)! I am creating a wrap pattern with the enchanted motif...I'll share a sneak peak tomorrow!<br />
<br />
In the meantime, here is today's motif to hold you over!<br />
<br />

<br />
Introducing the Fleur motif! I designed this one kind of on accident...I was playing around with stitches and this happy accident came into being. It looks absolutely lovely in Noro Kirara :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgsF9fpNPMRuwJ2dvJbRLeomI_hSBb-qLCPCZfXHH0gxzAaq4vy3PynfYXzbJv3SJ-1fTT1A_M0dnlkxwJkU9rTynqR18p6Jax1KSlD2b6Jqyw5JEMNZCtvuhJNlMqsKusgE37eFc8Jdg/s1600/Fleur3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgsF9fpNPMRuwJ2dvJbRLeomI_hSBb-qLCPCZfXHH0gxzAaq4vy3PynfYXzbJv3SJ-1fTT1A_M0dnlkxwJkU9rTynqR18p6Jax1KSlD2b6Jqyw5JEMNZCtvuhJNlMqsKusgE37eFc8Jdg/s400/Fleur3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I'd love to make this into a cropped cardigan. It would be so lovely for the warmer months!<br />
<br />
And, this is all I have time to write today. Dustin and I are going to see Oz the great and powerful with his mom. I've heard enough mixed reviews I'm not sure how I'll like it, but we'll see!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today I had the joy of entertaining my 7 year old sister! She came home with me yesterday after I was visiting my family and stayed overnight.<br />
<br />
Today we made coffee cake together, watched a movie, read some books and just enjoyed spending some time together. She also spent lots of time keeping Aslan entertained. He is officially pooped now that the house is quiet and the windows are cracked to let some fresh (kind of chilly) air in.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7L5ZAPE97lD7NshLbOq2ER4fxKNsKcyVE3AudjliQ4VR-uHLqvkpeJuhLsDdPK42zYpWskxj2_BVGs1txCx44udbXX2fabHqLjTRmcVWpwoQtLvSvqfyiiK5gsUDkC9pBbzO9tXt6JB4/s1600/IMG_20130416_173438.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7L5ZAPE97lD7NshLbOq2ER4fxKNsKcyVE3AudjliQ4VR-uHLqvkpeJuhLsDdPK42zYpWskxj2_BVGs1txCx44udbXX2fabHqLjTRmcVWpwoQtLvSvqfyiiK5gsUDkC9pBbzO9tXt6JB4/s320/IMG_20130416_173438.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I've had lots of baby movement today, it's so exciting! It kind of feels like she is trying to stretch out as much as she possibly can. I feel big bulges near the top of my tummy and pressing way down below...And I definitely know what it feels like to have your bladder be a trampoline! I nearly leaped off the couch last night because of it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8slG-0VCs0Eymnb7tiQ61-N0t0ozc3oJoDNQXove9OStakx421YB24LqQvg2mKnOvT5ccK3e0BT_H5hslH6jN6Hd8mq2So1hyg2JO6qSPIGh8E2typKKuYjfZSYS3CREm-CexL10O6MI/s1600/angelwings2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8slG-0VCs0Eymnb7tiQ61-N0t0ozc3oJoDNQXove9OStakx421YB24LqQvg2mKnOvT5ccK3e0BT_H5hslH6jN6Hd8mq2So1hyg2JO6qSPIGh8E2typKKuYjfZSYS3CREm-CexL10O6MI/s400/angelwings2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Speaking of baby things, It has finally been nice enough to take some pictures! This is the <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/angel-wings-pinafore" target="_blank">Angel Wings Pinafore</a> pattern. It is extremely popular on Ravelry, it is almost always in the top 20 crochet patterns! I made mine out of Malabrigo Rastita, and I'm still searching for the perfect buttons. It is such a quick crochet, I had this one done in a single day on our vacation. I am planning to make another one at some point in the future, and having the skirt part be made in the round and be joined together, rather then separate. I can't wait to see how sweet Willow looks in this! Hopefully we have some cooler summer days so she can wear some of the things I'm making :)<br />
<br />
Alright, moving on to the exciting motif part of our day!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZd2bEoihYFGyosP9CM55uN6jLaMsEogld6RIztF2_bSih4Q_nyto0pMRcdBjZpxJGD_NUgAxN4qs0IDrmNp-LejtfDCAvL3RR6jLKZFbbY05dPWldi_p29ihz6XfKu__Y1KxGqoDueV0/s1600/Fetching.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="464" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZd2bEoihYFGyosP9CM55uN6jLaMsEogld6RIztF2_bSih4Q_nyto0pMRcdBjZpxJGD_NUgAxN4qs0IDrmNp-LejtfDCAvL3RR6jLKZFbbY05dPWldi_p29ihz6XfKu__Y1KxGqoDueV0/s640/Fetching.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>
<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/151586"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I was inspired to create today's motif while thinking of fun centers I could use for motifs. Like the Meadow (yesterday's) motif, I think this motif would be really lovely made up in 2 or 3 different colors to make the single rows pop. I was intending to try and make this motif be a true hexagon...but it came out more star shaped instead :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIO0zi2DvItDRtoKSMwuYF0kBhzsEmFa21OyqQFUQ7vXJabZCtv3w8U_i9_UaV7BNiaFSv9AwwCSmyiGDaQS2ngqunqOJP3Ue4uofEJuAPuZeoYbN7Wif3j3AqCDiAJWVGt_CZnO7iYvA/s1600/Fetching2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIO0zi2DvItDRtoKSMwuYF0kBhzsEmFa21OyqQFUQ7vXJabZCtv3w8U_i9_UaV7BNiaFSv9AwwCSmyiGDaQS2ngqunqOJP3Ue4uofEJuAPuZeoYbN7Wif3j3AqCDiAJWVGt_CZnO7iYvA/s400/Fetching2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This motif is also slightly smaller than some of my other motifs, and I really like it that way. I think the thin drapiness of it is so attractive. It is one of the qualities of crochet that has been so overlooked over the years, which is such a shame!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsAePF_ozNRekL-suBgDqYABo7PokwZPl2NGRt7vCksLf5Mm2NiaKC2eQSdcYVRJQPtLArtx7lmsz-RMmh0EIzE7lk6LsD4duXyJsytnCFQzWanJWzuDo78Z9dRwHC-MAK5jOPv_E235k/s1600/Fetching3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsAePF_ozNRekL-suBgDqYABo7PokwZPl2NGRt7vCksLf5Mm2NiaKC2eQSdcYVRJQPtLArtx7lmsz-RMmh0EIzE7lk6LsD4duXyJsytnCFQzWanJWzuDo78Z9dRwHC-MAK5jOPv_E235k/s400/Fetching3.jpg" width="281" /></a></div>
<br />
I am hoping to be able to put together a post in the next few days that gives an example of how different a single motif can be based on the type of yarn used in creating it! The options that you have when turning your motif into a creation are absolutely endless...especially when you start taking colors into consideration!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />
ChelseaChelsea Waleshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02982474182820991116noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2648371106712219766.post-53985711178877435812013-04-15T21:00:00.003-05:002013-04-29T22:53:37.740-05:00Motif-a-Day: Day 11 ~ MeadowHey Everyone!<br />
<br />
Today I enjoyed a bit of a day off with my family. It was the first time I've gone over just to hang out since getting home from vacation! I got to snuggle with kittens that aren't quite kittens any more, crochet, and enjoy some hot beverages. It was really beautiful out this morning, but it cooled off considerably this afternoon, enough to warrant starting a fire in the fireplace. There isn't anything quite like crocheting with a warm cup of coffee next to the fire. It's something I really miss with our apartment...someday though, right? :)<br />
<br />
While I was visiting, I ran with my Dad into town and got to visit my old workplace (the library) and catch up with the staff! I haven't been in there for months, so it was really exciting to find out that one of my old co-workers is expecting a little girl of her own come September!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwWzFwkQOB8CvbkpjWU0P6-UG7TzsYhL78T7QFl34-_fL_jihh07TjX-g0TwYTXGD1Ahn7Cxy5Hbdr0LmqOePSqNdX7gJCuGKfCMzn1PHlQq57kTA0Xs7xgSmO7mViqzNsHwOZHvUJYCo/s1600/559032_10151572289250189_1093191599_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwWzFwkQOB8CvbkpjWU0P6-UG7TzsYhL78T7QFl34-_fL_jihh07TjX-g0TwYTXGD1Ahn7Cxy5Hbdr0LmqOePSqNdX7gJCuGKfCMzn1PHlQq57kTA0Xs7xgSmO7mViqzNsHwOZHvUJYCo/s320/559032_10151572289250189_1093191599_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My dad and I also hit up my all-time favorite coffee joint in town. I had a latte (I always get one there - I don't think anyone else makes them quite the same way, and I LOVE them!), and we shared a slice of their homemade coffee cake. Can you say heavenly? Ahhhhh...yum.<br />
<br />
Now, I've kept you in suspense for today's motif long enough ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTIyQRfteBreiWPjFjg8urke_iSCAjfSJM76LQtLRPqMY0UaCtROCcsNVQfi89UsFogEGPkYf59AupwumhoEFdPCw6b7qs9BCcgtccUxuaYhEAikkHB28qy7Ok4UXIoXpNkZKHVOIeH9o/s1600/Meadow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTIyQRfteBreiWPjFjg8urke_iSCAjfSJM76LQtLRPqMY0UaCtROCcsNVQfi89UsFogEGPkYf59AupwumhoEFdPCw6b7qs9BCcgtccUxuaYhEAikkHB28qy7Ok4UXIoXpNkZKHVOIeH9o/s640/Meadow.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/151503"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I created the meadow motif with the hopes of having a more flower like star shaped motif. I think that this motif would be pretty awesome made in two colors - the first one being for rows 1-3 and the second for rows 4-5.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi6eMQ2gUafMUYqjYd0wntji19qb-CdVDL0Yxq4Ha2a8fLcyvhec7pzl1s-trjFutJ-s65B3ws_x88atgo8mg-DSGoNgydhl6jax_4hd36xKJvb71fFUyNma_gNcsuQwZVpfuFrf5ct2Q/s1600/Meadow2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi6eMQ2gUafMUYqjYd0wntji19qb-CdVDL0Yxq4Ha2a8fLcyvhec7pzl1s-trjFutJ-s65B3ws_x88atgo8mg-DSGoNgydhl6jax_4hd36xKJvb71fFUyNma_gNcsuQwZVpfuFrf5ct2Q/s400/Meadow2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I would love to see this motif worked up in different ways with different yarns. I think it could be incredibly versatile! I think this will be one I definitely come back to in the future :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7shV1YpqjHUCbO1XiJBFXNf1bxLOBgSwpZBlA2dIdARiGiq8f4_E1B0o1xKxg0Kcxy3Nv86P0QZVvTjixYEGf2miDHQqcBC22SYjcVmxx5HDMPWbzIjvTjH6fNSNtxPWYbNi4bOrvHc/s1600/Meadow3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="308" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil7shV1YpqjHUCbO1XiJBFXNf1bxLOBgSwpZBlA2dIdARiGiq8f4_E1B0o1xKxg0Kcxy3Nv86P0QZVvTjixYEGf2miDHQqcBC22SYjcVmxx5HDMPWbzIjvTjH6fNSNtxPWYbNi4bOrvHc/s400/Meadow3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
What can you see this motif becoming?<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today I had my 26 week midwife appointment, and all is well with baby Willow and myself! Just a little over a week away is my Glucose test - I'm thrilled...or not ;)<br />
<br />
The most fun baby moment I have to report from my appointment was right after my midwife found the baby's heartbeat. Willow kicked her! ha! It seems as though I already have a little trouble maker on my hands.<br />
<br />
I've spent the rest of my day working on crocheting and I made another trip to my LYS to pick up some yarn and a new set of knitting needles to finish up a few baby projects over the weekend! I promise, I will have a photo full post on Monday! With the rainy and cloudy icky weather this week I've had to use flash photography for all of my photographs...and it just doesn't have the same quality as sunlight! Hopefully we have some nicer weather this weekend!<br />
<br />
And before I announce today's pattern - Starting today on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/crochetcollection" target="_blank">Crochet Collection facebook page</a> you can vote for the motif you want to see in the first pattern to accompany all of these motifs! You can choose from any pattern I've published since the beginning of the month! I will be putting a photo album of the first 10 designs up on the facebook page and whichever photo has the most likes/comments will be the winner! I think my vote is the Enchanted motif from day 3.<br />
<br />

<br />
I really do like this motif too, though! It reminds me of the ever illusive Wisconsin Spring. I could see even adding a border around each individual motif and turning it into a throw!<br />
<br />
These are all of the colors that I have picked out from Blue Sky Alpacas as well. I love how spring and summer it looks. Anything to get me out of winter right now is so fantastic! I wish the coral color photographed a little better though, it looks very 60's orange right now, but it really is a beautiful more delicate color. Maybe it'll be better next week!<br />

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I'd love it if you stopped by the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/crochetcollection" target="_blank">Crochet Collection facebook page</a> and shared what you're working on!<br />

<br />
I've had a very productive day today!<br />
<br />
This afternoon was my first week back at Open Knitting at my LYS since before my Florida trip! It was nice to see all of my friends faces again :) While I was there, I designed today's motif AND finished a little baby dress I'm making for a friend. It's so nice to get some projects finished!<br />
<br />
I also spent a nice amount of time cleaning my kitchen up. And then baking...and cleaning again. I haven't baked for myself in such a long time, I really enjoyed myself! Cooking day in and day out gets a little monotonous sometimes...baking just seems to break it all up a bit. I made a delicious sour cream pound cake recipe into a little mini bundt cake pan that my Grandma gave me! I glazed the cakes with a lemon glaze that was just delicious.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8U1Hd4SbnuCWIFlsvco_cYR4NLLraWz14dzyoWXUCgdUkU4KsgP4N_swWH5xS5HYWrAoqvEhQlC-RfJotEUsNqNMo7fZ3U6QmzfHWg1DNJ60pOivxvkilt8JXI0q4eYuv3cZTvFInpyg/s1600/299246_10151566873945189_1286929044_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8U1Hd4SbnuCWIFlsvco_cYR4NLLraWz14dzyoWXUCgdUkU4KsgP4N_swWH5xS5HYWrAoqvEhQlC-RfJotEUsNqNMo7fZ3U6QmzfHWg1DNJ60pOivxvkilt8JXI0q4eYuv3cZTvFInpyg/s320/299246_10151566873945189_1286929044_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Yeah...I snitched ;) If you are interested in the recipe I used, you can find it on the <a href="http://madefromscratchinbk.wordpress.com/2011/11/12/sour-cream-pound-cake-mini-bundts/" target="_blank">Made From Scratch blog</a>! I think my cakes turned out a little darker than hers because I forgot about the cakes in the oven for about 3 or 4 minutes too long....oopsies! They were still yummy nonetheless :)<br />
<br />
And now...your favorite part of the day (oh, you know it!)...Motif time!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Ct4GfAdjnLSZV85lyuZUIMje1lXC0epUI7gRZ2F1TCBjTcNL80uEZNQI-JHzmjblbN80ef0k6PyuvJY2GUOEUK5r3vJ2D0LZvs-hVgbOyYNFDcVHL8U1YOxExrzDXRf_wpePI4egeF0/s1600/Tempest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Ct4GfAdjnLSZV85lyuZUIMje1lXC0epUI7gRZ2F1TCBjTcNL80uEZNQI-JHzmjblbN80ef0k6PyuvJY2GUOEUK5r3vJ2D0LZvs-hVgbOyYNFDcVHL8U1YOxExrzDXRf_wpePI4egeF0/s640/Tempest.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/151012"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I have officially decided it's time to take a break on the squares. So I'll be forcing myself into playing with new shapes over the next week! I love hexagons though almost as much as the squares...so maybe I'm not pushing myself hard enough yet ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCGiRGBu6vUbipecpPqR7WtmXaCeliwVwkYqNueoQ-kTPsqeL1k-Mt3UnCRymZfcWBEtMuX90vgvNhfkNdfkHsyP6MsoHG-D1jIwzUJB2Ub7X_KE9z4qoK7fEKsLdp5XXkMfNb1xPL4mo/s1600/Tempest2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCGiRGBu6vUbipecpPqR7WtmXaCeliwVwkYqNueoQ-kTPsqeL1k-Mt3UnCRymZfcWBEtMuX90vgvNhfkNdfkHsyP6MsoHG-D1jIwzUJB2Ub7X_KE9z4qoK7fEKsLdp5XXkMfNb1xPL4mo/s400/Tempest2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I can't wait to see what the tempest looks like blocked out! I made it up in gorgeous Misti Alpaca and it has some incredible drape! I think that this motif would be absolutely stunning in a cardigan. Or even a scarf, too!<br />
<br />
Tomorrow morning I go in for my 26 week midwife appointment! Little baby Willow has been super active all week, I think she's looking forward to being heard again ;)<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today has been one of those days where everything is perfect to crochet...but I just had no motivation! I spent the whole day up in town since it was Dustin's day off and he was going to a special event at the Capitol. I didn't have to go with, but I spent the morning with my mom and sisters shopping at the thrift shop for baby things :) I scored pretty well! I got over 30 baby items plus some lovely maternity items for myself AND 2 lamps for a grand total of $10!! Willow will never be in want of stylish clothes :)<br />
<br />
Drum Roll....<br />
<br />
Introducing the Labyrinth Motif!<br />
<br />
This motif reminds me of spring...the spring that it seems like Wisconsin will NEVER get!<br />

I'm feeling a little out of creative juice today...so what do you think this motif wants to become? I'm out of ideas ;)<br />

<br />
I think I'm all recovered from my long weekend now, I feel pretty well rested!<br />
<br />
Today I'm very excited to be bringing you the Harmony Motif!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/150672"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I am personally in love with this motif! I really like the interplay between the middle of the motif and the lacier edges. I didn't have time to make 4 motifs like I have with others, but I think it would be pretty outstanding. This pattern may have my vote to become the first pattern for this collection...but I have 3 more days in the week!<br />

<br />
The motif is only 4 rounds, but it works up to be pretty big! Again, I absolutely just LOVE the yarn it's made in. Blue Sky Alpacas is pretty amazing, I'm just saying. I am loving this colorway in the skinny dyed cotton collection. The color is coral, and I can't wait to show you the third color I get to work with tomorrow! Between the coral, natural and the other color....it will make a very eye catching design. In my humble opinion anyway. I'm allowed to be biased, right? :)<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today has been kind of an exhausting day. Actually...the last few days have been pretty exhausting!<br />
<br />
Friday night Dustin and I stayed over at my parents house following my siblings choir concert and art show for their homeschool group. It was so fun to see how well they did! My mom has been a homeschool choir teacher on and off since I was elementary aged, and she actually directed all 3 choirs. My youngest sister was in the <a href="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=crochecolle0c-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=1400308453" target="_blank">Sunflower Parable</a>, which was a little musical that my mom and her class assistant adapted from <a href="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=crochecolle0c-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=1400308453" target="_blank">the book</a> by Liz Curtis Higgs. It was so cute! My youngest brother was in a production called "100% Chance of Rain" which is a jazz cantata based on the story of Noah. Funny thing is...I was in this very musical about 10 years ago too! I still remembered most of the songs as they sang. My middle sisters group got to create Baby Einstein inspired music videos that played during the set changes for the younger choirs. They did a fantastic job, it was so interesting to watch!<br />
<br />

<br />
Tomorrow marks 1 year since my husband proposed to me at Wrigley Field! Today we were able to go to the cubs season opener and someone was gracious enough to snap our picture in the very spot he proposed to me! It is kind of amazing how much has changed in this last year. I love you Dustin, saying "Yes" was the best (and easiest!) decision of my life!<br />

<br />
We also picked up the T-shirt I was wearing today...Willow will have many years of disappointing baseball seasons in her life I am sure ;)<br />

<br />
We did have pretty cool seats though at the Wrigley Rooftops! And tons of delicious food and free drinks to boot.<br />
<br />

<br />
Ethereal is a square motif that is made in 4 quick and easy rounds! It is created in Blue Sky Alpacas Skinny Cotton, which is an absolutely sumptuous soft and supple cotton yarn. I have never worked with a cotton that I have loved this much in my whole life! The colors are gorgeous...as you will see over the next few days :)<br />
<br />

<br />
I am going to be having a pole at the end of the week after working with this yarn to see which motif you want me to create into a pattern! I love the ease and quickness of this motif a lot - but there are still 4 more days in the week!<br />
<br />
Now, I'm off to bed!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today I wanted to share some pictures of one of the finds my mom came across at the kids consignment sale we went to yesterday.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKupd2HRbH83wyn5uDKVIDJkVWHqelIIFqMBP-8uqmHp2xoUxLsnXcsWcclE7J4CFs3XTRc6stQhxQqFsItTDyrISRip3EnWIIPgeEK3jWPoNhGCT1_zssLPIlTfj-kYJb50WFNmulxCU/s1600/socks1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKupd2HRbH83wyn5uDKVIDJkVWHqelIIFqMBP-8uqmHp2xoUxLsnXcsWcclE7J4CFs3XTRc6stQhxQqFsItTDyrISRip3EnWIIPgeEK3jWPoNhGCT1_zssLPIlTfj-kYJb50WFNmulxCU/s320/socks1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Handmade Socks! While we were digging through some small bins full of socks and accessories for kids, my mom came across two sets of beautifully handknit socks! The white ones above feel like they are an angora blend, they are so soft and fluffy, and their smell reminds me of the days I spent more time in fiber shops.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipsRzoyZrIM4H-_s6K30jYDoYLxlThOSTvQY699t58T2_hV6I_r896-ssfd918tNLJi_UILsk984Q363BZQ1hJUgG1JzwfRtVARXcF4cU2SVL9p057FO1HNxmy1RENqktd2OTovj7Z-_k/s1600/socks2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="223" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipsRzoyZrIM4H-_s6K30jYDoYLxlThOSTvQY699t58T2_hV6I_r896-ssfd918tNLJi_UILsk984Q363BZQ1hJUgG1JzwfRtVARXcF4cU2SVL9p057FO1HNxmy1RENqktd2OTovj7Z-_k/s320/socks2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I feel so lucky to have adopted two beautiful pairs of socks for Willow and any other future kids!<br />
<br />
Today in the Motif-a-Day series I'm introducing the Spellbound Motif!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I was digging through my stash trying to find a new yarn to crochet in today, and I pulled out a skein of sock yarn that had a little elastic in it. I liked the motif, but I wasn't very happy with how the yarn crocheted up. So, I think I'll be knitting with that yarn instead!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHHuKIp0Wyd5fy7gQLRviNbzOFmJeSJiEFzLonPNIetinsReV06CTYzBXMH740dfKamrf_ov2CA5tP4GJrfOjdhytR48LImBtqSsymLBzqa9YoFFoZ9cggIHGpulkagP2fedkq2tokDI0/s1600/Spellbound3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHHuKIp0Wyd5fy7gQLRviNbzOFmJeSJiEFzLonPNIetinsReV06CTYzBXMH740dfKamrf_ov2CA5tP4GJrfOjdhytR48LImBtqSsymLBzqa9YoFFoZ9cggIHGpulkagP2fedkq2tokDI0/s400/Spellbound3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
I was much happier with this lovely cotton and soy blend yarn. It is soft, and has some incredible drape! If you are interested in working with the yarn, it is from Queensland Collection, and is called <a href="http://www.yarn.com/product/webs-knitting-yarns-queensland-bebe-cotsoy/" target="_blank">Bebe Cotsoy</a>.<br />
<br />
Today I got a box of yarn in the mail...it was full of some beautiful stuff that I can't wait to show you next week! I'm planning on getting some baby crocheting done over the weekend...what will be on your hooks? I'd love to see on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/crochetcollection" target="_blank">Crochet Collection facebook page</a>!<br />
<br />

<br />
Despite my best attempts at getting a blog post out earlier in the day, here I am, it's 10:30 and I'm finally sitting down to write!<br />
<br />
Today my mom and I hit a local spring kids consignment sale and got a ton of baby stuff for little Willow! We found a beautiful bassinet to go in our bedroom, and I bought a beautiful pottery barn crib set! Naturally, we couldn't get away without some super adorable clothes too...shopping for a little girl is SO fun! We are also going to one more sale on Saturday morning and I am hoping to possibly snag a car seat and stroller. I am crossing my fingers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/149946"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a>
</center>
<br />
Today in the Motif-a-Day series, I am bringing you the Starlight motif! I thought I'd change up the squares I've been doing all week and have a fun star pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDhzm0RVx49N3niEFhmpjX-bHm_TM6KZLdGFNpcI7Lke6_Tc77euIUglT1YtCwQ5qmimSGLCjRTAAJKg7LcRS9rDCWmBXLpZgtsZt_Gol6ZVykuYnPr8Dayb83gwyQeqiHa-B7d9f3Q0/s1600/Starlight2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDhzm0RVx49N3niEFhmpjX-bHm_TM6KZLdGFNpcI7Lke6_Tc77euIUglT1YtCwQ5qmimSGLCjRTAAJKg7LcRS9rDCWmBXLpZgtsZt_Gol6ZVykuYnPr8Dayb83gwyQeqiHa-B7d9f3Q0/s400/Starlight2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I think this is another pattern that would lend well to having multiple colors to help break it up a bit. I also think that the single motif would make a really awesome coaster or applique! A shawl would be beautiful in this stitch pattern. I could also see continuing the 1 and 2 stacked on each other to create a scarf. Oh, the possibilities!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Today was a very enjoyable kind of day. I really needed one of those after the last few days of busy-ness! I was able to be a little lazy and get up later, enjoy some delicious carrot and apple juice for breakfast and have some fun crocheting new motifs!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim7D5dGqcKuSNDDju4m_hpdcQd8om4vcJFl9m2id1V2XbVlwa61kWSIe9gQyoHnxQxAxjC5J0wmIiVTM4urc_1qELJmzwPlioCSDITKNfMgzqiYdQfnPqK4RH6WgyBqPkZDim2TpZynWI/s1600/18899_10151553901280189_900317080_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim7D5dGqcKuSNDDju4m_hpdcQd8om4vcJFl9m2id1V2XbVlwa61kWSIe9gQyoHnxQxAxjC5J0wmIiVTM4urc_1qELJmzwPlioCSDITKNfMgzqiYdQfnPqK4RH6WgyBqPkZDim2TpZynWI/s320/18899_10151553901280189_900317080_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Breakfast!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Today I'm bringing you the Enchanted Motif. I took a little time and reflected on the style of motif I wanted to make today. I had always wanted to create a motif that was truly square and wouldn't need any kind of filler motif to bring the centers together, and here is what I came up with!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUN_NAhlVn_gkvX8AzjeKOHhxARNPVQGSmHYHJnSfTPvkCwi7uamML_3ZQMoQvxLQdGHyeVosbKUisoNTjx6QpPX3GdWxiViNPR5dGVr1uKMUSjQYhNeQI2qWorjJ2TR_yef-2-SQZBh8/s1600/Enchanted.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUN_NAhlVn_gkvX8AzjeKOHhxARNPVQGSmHYHJnSfTPvkCwi7uamML_3ZQMoQvxLQdGHyeVosbKUisoNTjx6QpPX3GdWxiViNPR5dGVr1uKMUSjQYhNeQI2qWorjJ2TR_yef-2-SQZBh8/s640/Enchanted.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
I really love this motif, and I think if it were made up in a fingering/sock weight yarn with a slightly larger hook, it would make the perfect spring scarf! What could you see it being made into?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcbi1PnZyln-eNOhcukq-YnEqKt1eXN6gqoZswOfPnayDop0XzIKMA9hifofK6ZLymjLqBC-DVLg-JbluTvZgldrn1NQWPeKzgvY5avhuQmFuyxcsgLGTq-UVsz9tvLB6-g-Bm6-DyDY/s1600/Enchanted2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcbi1PnZyln-eNOhcukq-YnEqKt1eXN6gqoZswOfPnayDop0XzIKMA9hifofK6ZLymjLqBC-DVLg-JbluTvZgldrn1NQWPeKzgvY5avhuQmFuyxcsgLGTq-UVsz9tvLB6-g-Bm6-DyDY/s320/Enchanted2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
I would also love to create a summer cardigan from this motif pattern. I may have to start learning how to create garments! Funny thing is, I have a feeling after I design a garment for the first time I'll be hooked. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...<br />
<br />

<br />
Tomorrow I get to do my first real baby shopping! There is a really awesome consignment sale going on up in Madison that I am taking my mom to. I really can't wait for garage sale season to come around so I can sell all of the things I don't need anymore to make way for baby!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Today is day two in the Motif-a-Day series!<br />
Meet wonderland. What I love most about this motif is the understated lacy-ness of it! I love square motifs, probably because they can go together in so many interesting ways. If you play around with this pattern at all, I would absolutely love to see what you come up with.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit9EZJySpi8wLf4Klo8MPRg1lijZUYF5sFHinGwaheKFgwg6o7NNaOIn3M_dhzhoNfqgNPNmruxfuKEeHSEwT1CWUiqb-Z1LlYhOO9D9-hsB4aiDEKCLg4ti2HvhTxgbkCxvHJ8R-V1p0/s1600/Wonderland.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit9EZJySpi8wLf4Klo8MPRg1lijZUYF5sFHinGwaheKFgwg6o7NNaOIn3M_dhzhoNfqgNPNmruxfuKEeHSEwT1CWUiqb-Z1LlYhOO9D9-hsB4aiDEKCLg4ti2HvhTxgbkCxvHJ8R-V1p0/s640/Wonderland.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<center>
<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/149569"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
The yarn used in the wonderland motif is Cascade 220 Superwash. When crocheted with an H hook, it creates a fabric that is slightly thick, but would drape incredibly with a little blocking.<br />
<br />
This motif works up super quickly as well! You could have a whole pile of them done in no time flat! The most difficult part of the pattern is probably the joining row. I haven't worked from many join-as-you-go patterns before in the past, so I'm not sure if I created a totally new stitch or not, when you join to the picot with another picot!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj496gxUmPbTw5clPQsZR5cxKhyphenhyphenKM4gO8TOLG82U7bzZDygYNLOTdqxAqQfXq0mLwlwoxMv-FXb8ETBGOrqV_ZwCf4FBtD2LJ6-jUl3hefgzlFLxcmq1jKNMLyHZSCYUmBqsqDzZ4I7kNk/s1600/wonderland2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj496gxUmPbTw5clPQsZR5cxKhyphenhyphenKM4gO8TOLG82U7bzZDygYNLOTdqxAqQfXq0mLwlwoxMv-FXb8ETBGOrqV_ZwCf4FBtD2LJ6-jUl3hefgzlFLxcmq1jKNMLyHZSCYUmBqsqDzZ4I7kNk/s400/wonderland2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/149569"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
With a filler motif, I think this motif would make a beautiful shawl or wrap. I could even see it becoming a sweater or cardigan....hmmm...I love the process of inspiration!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIka5PjubZMQxqaw2z_xJ0P5azmPu4n4kE82LsvMmsxKi01ds5qWqSJ5YJccfxW1ytS4cmieeiTZ2_s4CRW4_TtIguLp2Fx1ThKV3dOkU1FINiDTNrMkYzeOLDZflUD13sweryBVFQWk/s1600/wonderland3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIka5PjubZMQxqaw2z_xJ0P5azmPu4n4kE82LsvMmsxKi01ds5qWqSJ5YJccfxW1ytS4cmieeiTZ2_s4CRW4_TtIguLp2Fx1ThKV3dOkU1FINiDTNrMkYzeOLDZflUD13sweryBVFQWk/s400/wonderland3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/chelsea-norquay-wales-designs/149569"><img border="0" src="http://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></center>
<br />
I'm going to try and get ahead a few days of designs so I can actually block them properly as well! I think that this pattern would be so incredibly lacy when blocked! I guess I should get off my procrastinating behind!<br />
<br />
In other news, I finally went to the grocery store to restock our fridge after vacation! Dustin and I have recently gotten on a huge fresh juicing spurt and my cart definitely reflected that!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Juice is so yummy! I love experimenting putting all sorts of things together and seeing just how great it still ends up being! I have been putting a beet in our juice lately...it's definitely pink at the end! I juice kale as well, and knowing that my baby is getting so many fantastic nutrients while she is growing is absolutely fantastic. I am so excited for the farmers market to start back up so I have super ultra fresh things to juice! I have been tinkering with the idea of starting some pots of plants on our little patio outside too....we shall see!<br />
<br />
Happy Crocheting!<br />

<br />
Dustin and I arrived home at midnight last night after a looooong days drive from Atlanta. I can honestly say that there is nothing quite as sweet as being home after 9 days! Sleeping in my own bed is such a luxury that I take for granted! :)<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I am so thrilled to announce that this month I am starting a new blog series! There have been a few times in the last month that I have gone back to the motifs I designed during NaMoCroMo in 2011 to be re-inspired by the motifs I created. Every time I pick up one of those pretty little things I'm reminded how much fun and how inspired I felt creating something new every day!<br />
<br />
So, this month I am bringing you Motif-A-Day! From today until May 3rd I will be releasing a new motif designed by yours truly! I will be posting about all of the awesome things you can do with your motifs and maybe even designing a few awesome patterns from the motifs! Your pattern includes the standard motif and how to create a seamless join!<br />
<br />
If you love the pattern, you will be able to purchase individual motif designs for 99 cents every day! At the end of the month I will be collaborating all of the designs into an e-Book that you can get for just $9.99. If you purchase the e-Book or any individual pattern, you will be able to get a discount for any pattern that is published using a motif, too!<br />
<br />

<br />
Today's pattern is called Square Dancing. Made alone it is an awesome coaster (I have a few sitting around my house serving this purpose at the moment), but when you start joining them together they create a beautiful fabric! I used a H hook and Brown Sheep Chunky, and I think that combination would create a killer cowl!<br />
